What types of treatment for pain control does Neurosurgery and Endovascular Associates offer?
Dr. Ahuja believes interventional treatments or therapies are beneficial for his patients. Our clinics offer a variety of pain-management options that address our patients’ pain at its source, provide long-term relief, and are customized to each person’s individual lifestyle and recovery needs.
Physical therapy
Dr. Ahuja can guide patients through physical therapy stretches and exercises that can improve the overall way they carry themselves, strengthen muscles, fine-tune movements impacting affected areas, and reduce stress on both the body and mind.
Doctor Ahuja can also prescribe methods of physical therapy, from massage to water traction exercises.
Patients may be given a tailored exercise regimen to perform outside of the clinic, which can reduce symptoms no matter where you are!
Steroid Injections and Pain Injection Procedures
Steroid injections are medical injections that can help reduce pain and strengthen the affected area.
Dr. Ahuja performs the injections himself, and the entire procedure can take less than five minutes. After receiving injections, you can leave our offices same-day, and get back to everyday life feeling refreshed. Our patients will be evaluated by Dr. Ahuja at every follow-up visit, and he will guide and advise you in every step of your pain management.
Medication
Medications are often an effective way to calm muscle stiffness or spasms, temper inflammation, and control a variety of pain symptoms.
Dr. Ahuja walks each of his patients through their choices and dosages so they understand the exact effects each medication will have in improving their pain, considering addictive medications, and giving alternatives.
Posture
Poor posture is often a root cause of a variety of ongoing pain. Our team wants each patient to understand proper posture to improve their symptoms. We can show you the best ways to position yourself if you are sitting all day at an office job or on your feet all day putting a strain on affected muscles. We believe pain management continues even after you leave our clinic.
Proper body mechanics
Beyond proper posture, Dr. Ahuja and staff can give patients tips on how to move his or her body to optimize rehabilitation. The ways you bend, lift objects, and even twist and turn can exacerbate your pain, so our staff can show you how to maximize the actions you take with your pain in mind. We can give you a detailed health and exercise regimen specific to your comfort level and medical needs.
If you are considering surgery or utilizing pain management, we are here to help!
